Your Boy Banksy is up to it again. This time he's throwing down for the Big Apple with the opening of the Village Pet Store And Charcoal Grill.
From Banksy : “New Yorkers don’t care about art, they care about pets. So I’m exhibiting them instead. I wanted to make art that questioned our relationship with animals and the ethics and sustainability of factory farming, but it ended up as chicken nuggets singing. I took all the money I made exploiting an animal in my last show and used it to fund a new show about the exploitation of animals. If its art and you can see it from the street, I guess it could still be considered street art.

This is quite the change from Banksy's last show in Los Angeles back in September of 2006 that involved a live elephant being painted pink. You can read more about it here BBC "Banksy's elephant provokes anger"

this shit is great. banksy just keeps getting better and more profound, all the while giving props to the pioneers. check 'blek le rat' if you don't know about him already. banksy takes alot of inspiration from him. he was doing this shit in the late '70s and early '80s, a man ahead of his time.
